Our
Story
C&C Styling has a very personal origin story for Val. Like so many, Val and her sisters fell upon insecure years in high school, specifically during the summer “bikini” months. To ease the tension on what was turning into a particularly negative beach trip, Val coined the phrase “Comfortable and Confident” as a catch phrase to remind everyone that feeling good is more than just looking good.
The catchy saying perfectly encompassed the energy Val always hoped to channel for herself and others. How you feel in your body and clothing impacts how you move through the world, and it is vital that energy is positive and affirming. Quickly abbreviated to “C&C”, the jovial expression evolved over the next two decades into a mindset that Val practices daily and actively promotes for everyone around her. She can’t wait to share the feeling of C&C with you!
Like many women, I have been every shape and size throughout my adult life. The freshman 15 turned into nearly 50 lbs in college followed by crazy restrictions leading to the wedding… then came pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.

For years, I hid in my clothing (flowy tops, baggy bottoms, boring designs), trying to distract the world from what was underneath. But as my confidence grew, I realized how fun and empowering putting outfits together could be! After receiving my MBA and working as an HR Business Partner for 10 years, I was ready to follow my passion for styling and launch C&C!
I am a minimalist by nature but have a wide range of styles I draw on. I love a themed event and believe how we experience life can drastically improve based on if we feel comfortable in the clothing we wear. I am deeply motivated to share the gift of styling confidence and education to my fellow moms, professionals, and community in Washington and Utah!
